Chosen #1 in ESPN’s recently released Michael Jordan Hall of Fame Special Issue, was the Air Jordan III. Among some of the reasons why, is the introduction to Tinker Hatfield’s genius to JB, for the use of the classic [& now-WAY overused] elephant print. OR maybe it had something to do with the fact that Jordan is Rockin the III’s in one of the most famous Sports imagesEV-ER - *the free-throw line dunk*.

Back when they first came out- it’s success was highly attributed to an advertising campaign using Mars Blackmon character as the pitchman. Now we all know the Spiz’ike itself is a representation of all the shoes that utlilized that marketing strategy, but the III’s were the first ones seen in those comedic black and white commercials with MJ being nagged by Spike Lee’s alter ego.

As a result, these new Spiz’ike feature a combined colorway of three of the most sought after AJ3 colorways- Cement, True Blue, and Fire Red. Sure, other pairs feature famous colorways too, but the “Fresh Since ‘85″ pair adds some more features, like the “Mike” and “Mars” lace locks. Enter the inside of the shoe and see the collar is lined with the famous “Do you know?” lines from the commercials, and printed on the insole the equally famous Mars Blackmon imagery with the shoe’s moniker underneath.

Official release is expected to be sometime in January 2010.
