Congrats to the hommie Daphne,
one more to add to the list of credentials

i was online surfing looking for things to blog about
& BAM i see the cover of BlackMens
i was like :-o
i had seen pics from the shoot a couple weeks back on the 9th
when we were at the
[Trina Rick Ross & Twista In The “South To West” Concert]
Side note: Trina Rocked it out with the Louboutin Purple Forever Tina boots
but it was dark and i didnt know what the shoot was for
So, i Hit Daps for the air bush tanning ladies number [another story]
& she handt seen the pictures yet,
Excited, Curious, Full of Questions,
unsure if she should go but the magazine in a hoodie
lol cute.. but for those who dont already know how it works
models dont get to see their pics before they are printed
& very seldomly are they contracted when the publication drops
so it sneeks up on you.. scary right?
a couple of the pics came out a lil racy,
but there are some classic ones too
pick up the Issue & add her on myspace, shes a sweet girl.

I had to get an Exclusive about the Shoot >:]
From Daps, to Me, to You…

Via Yahoo for the Post:
Daphne Joy: “I really loved the team that I worked with for the BM cover. Nick Saglimbeni, was our photographer and his work speaks for himself. He’s truly talented. Marcus Blassingame (BM editor) was very professional on set and made sure that both Chanta and I were treated just as well as TI was.

Chanta and I are friends so as far as that racy photo goes, we were both laughing and it wasn’t that big of a deal to us. What people don’t see is that, when you open the magazine, TI is also on the other end of the couch with us, (2 page spread), and the whole joke is that TI could care less what the sexy girls are doing, bc it’s suppose to be “a day in the life of,” the “norm” for him. Hence, his facial expression while drinking from his “King” cup.

But of course, people are going to separate the photo, and focus negatively over the position Chanta and I were in. Bloggers are also cutting out the photo of TI and I, which is more of a fashion shot versus a super sexy shot.

I recently came upon the comments people were leaving on other blog spots, and the whole controversy over it is the whole race thing now. Which is really very sad and ignorant. It’s not our fault the magazine chose us to be on the cover. Plus, there are many ethnic women who grace covers of magazine that may not necessarily be the nationality the magazine gears towards. Beautiful is beautiful, and that’s all I have to say about that.

Overall, it was a good experience and I’m glad I got to work amongst friends. I hope that people who did find it entertaining look at it as just that, entertainment. It doesn’t depict the lives of the people in it, we’re just models, and he’s an entertainer.”
